Charlie Holley Ministries Inc is a 501(c)(3) organization founded by Charlie and Cassandra Holley four years after the tragic death of their thirteen-year-old son Torrell. While on his last day of basketball tryouts at school, Torrell suddenly collapsed from cardiac arrest and died moments later. The autopsy attributed the collapse to a rare heart condition called ARVD.
Christians at the time, Charlie, Cassandra, and Torrell’s younger sister Kiana, went through very difficult times. Depression, anger, guilt, and doubting their faith were the norm. As they struggled to find some sense of peace and understanding, Charlie and Cassandra began to notice others around them who were also struggling with various tragedies. The ministry to help others through grief was birthed as "Charlie Holley Ministries Inc."
The ministry offers several services but the most notable are adult grief sessions and youth faith-strenghtening sessions. Adult grief sessions consist of sharing their personal struggles along with keys to overcome the many emotions of grief such as anger, guilt, loneliness, sadness and despair, depression, doubting the faith, and more.
Youth (12yrs-19yrs) sessions consist of sharing their son's touching and inspiring story about dealing with the everyday struggles of youth (bullying, trying to fit in, making the right choices, not being ashamed of the faith) and how his faith in Christ carried him through.
They have visited many groups including Hospice, Compassionate Friends, Homicide Survivors, and many church groups, including several churches and groups in Montego Bay Jamaica. If you have a need for a grief speaker, conference speaker, or grief group speaker, please book the ministry using the website menus.
